Banana Smoothies
Simple, cost effective, easy to make, and delicious, smoothies filled with frozen fruit are super refreshing in the summertime but also awesome in the winter when fresh fruit is not in season. Bananas are my favorite fruit for smoothies. They give such a creamy, sweet base that doesn't overwhelm other flavors. Below are a few smoothie recipes to try, but feel free to mix and match the flavors. It's hard to go wrong.

The base:
1 medium ripe banana, (fresh or frozen)
½ cup ice
1 cup milk of choice
1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
Add base ingredients and the specific flavor ingredients to a blender. Blend until smooth and enjoy!

2 tbsp nut butter of choice
1 heaping tbsp cacao powder (if you are able, opt for fair trade cacao!)
Gingerbread
¼ tsp cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
Dash of ground ginger
